Operation Tarte Tatin - Baking Contest and Live Music Concert
Aprons on, Set, Bake!
Put your baking skills to the test and win a trip to Wellington:
- Flights from Palmerston North and one-night accommodation
- Breakfast at the French Ambassador's Residence
- A hands-on cooking class at Cordon Bleu New Zealand: preparation of a traditional French dish with Chef Francis Motta
- Followed by a two-course lunch: the dish prepared during the class matched with a French wine and a dessert.
To enter, simply bring your best Tarte Tatin (classic or original), on Saturday 1 May at 5.30 pm in Evelyn Rawlins Room (Square Edge).
Christine Page, Head Chef at Café Brie will be judging your creations while you will enjoy a live concert with drinks and nibbles. The
winner announcement at 7 pm will be followed by a Tarte Tatin tasting for all.
This event will also be the perfect opportunity to come and say goodbye to Romane who will be leaving the Alliance Française Palmerston
North after 3 years of great work!

Admission to the Operation Tarte Tatin Evening is $15 for contestants, $25 for AF members and $35 for non-members.
Drinks and nibbles available from the bar.
PLEASE NOTE:
- Enrolments will be limited to 25 contestants. Please register in advance to enter the contest and receive more details (T&Cs, enrolment form, ...).
- The tarts must be brought ready to be submitted. There will be no kitchen available to use upon arrival on the day of the contest.
- The tarts must be brought to the Alliance Française Palmerston North between 5.30 and 5.45 pm on the day of the contest. Past this time, entries will not be accepted.
T&C’s: this competition is open to those aged 18 and over and the prize, as described, is provided to the winner only.
The date cannot be changed (but dependent on COVID-19 alert levels) neither can the content of the prize be transferred to another person or
exchanged for cash. It includes the transport to/from Wellington (arrival on 20 May, return on 21 May) and a one-night accommodation (20
May). A shuttle service will operate transfers to the French Residence and Cordon Bleu New Zealand. Individual airport/railway station
transfers aren’t covered.
